Round 2 saw excellent results across the board for the Bombers. In a first for the club, all five teams (Seniors, Reserves, Under 19s, Thirds and Netball) recorded wins.

The Thirds started the day with an excellent win against Cheltenham. The Under 19s then followed and got the four points also against Cheltenham. The netballers went 3-0 in grading. The reserves had a super win against Springvale Districts and the seniors rounded out the day with a nail-biting win against Springvale Districts.

A big thank you to all clubs who hosted our teams over the weekend and another huge thank you to all volunteers who offered up their time to assist us on the weekend. It is truly very much appreciated.

The five wins created a great vibe throughout the club rooms for our annual dress up night. It was pleasing to see a lot of new faces dressed up and fitting in really well. A great night was held by all. Thank you to our social manager, Rhiannon Sebire, for organising the event.

This week is another big one for the club.

Thirds @ South Yarra - 9:30am
Under 19s @ Hampton - 9:30am
Reserves Vs Murrumbeena - 11:45am
Seniors Vs Murrumbeena - 2:00pm
Netball Vs Doveton - 12:00pm (Rowan Rd Courts)

A reminder to all members that we are holding the first of our club dinners at the Albion Hotel after the Round 4 Doveton game. We are expecting big numbers so be sure to head down and support our sponsor!

Round 2 and a Dress-Up Do!

We hope that everyone has had a safe and happy Easter with family and friends. It looks as though the players are recharged and are ready for a big round 2 this weekend against Springvale Districts.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Springvale this weekend, but don't forget; the Under 19s and Thirds are up early and both take on Chelthenham at Jack Barker oval in Cheltenham. The netball girls are once again at Rohan Rd courts, this time at 1pm against Lyndale.

This Saturday night, the club will host its first night function at the clubrooms. The event is the annual dress up night and the theme is famous bands and singers. Entry is $10 and will begin at 7pm after awards. Drinks are at bar prices. Awards will be given out for the best dressed so make a big effort and come dressed up. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Let's make sure we come home with five wins before we celebrate!

It Starts With A BANG!

What a fantastic start to the season! It was great to see everyone down at the hangar on Saturday watching as all four sides took the field across the day. It made for a sensational atmosphere.

The thirds started the day and kicked the dew off the ground with a win against Cerberus. The under 19s followed and fought hard, but were unfortunately beaten by Chelsea Heights.

Prior to the reserves match, the club was excited and proud to raise the 2013 Division 2 Reserves premiership flag. It was a great moment for the club in it's short history. The reserves then took the field and played a very consistent game that produced a convincing win against Hampton.

As The Last Post played through the speakers, the Australian flag flew at half mast. After a minute silence and the oath, the seniors commenced and treated the crowd to a thrilling match, aslo against Hampton. It was close all day until a couple of late goals got the boys across the line.

Full match reports from the coaches will be uploaded this week.

Our netball girls came away with their second win of the year against Mt Waverley. They are looking strong and are bonding very well so far. We want to keep encouraging them to attend club events so if you see them around, please introduce yourself and try to get to a couple of games during the year. We want them to feel welcome.

On top of everything else that was happening, we also managed to squeeze in our sponsors day. We had a few attend which was great. It was also good to share the luncheon with club & committee members.

A big thank you to everyone who helped out with setting up and running the day. It is very much appreciated. The on-field and off-field success of this week has set the club up for a sensational season. Let's now set our sights on Round 2 and Springvale Districts!

Home Sweet Home

It's finally here. The day we've been waiting for since preseason started in November. Round 1 kicks off our season this Saturday.

The game times are as follows:

Thirds Vs Cerberus - 8:45am
Under 19s Vs Chelsea Heights - 10:30am
Reserves Vs Hampton - 11:45am
Seniors Vs Hampton - 2:00pm

Netballers are at the Dingley courts at 12pm. They would also appreciate some support.

The clubrooms will be open all day and we will do awards after 6pm. Everyone is welcome. The club will be unfurling the reserves 2013 permiership flag as the reserves are about to commence. If you were a part of that success, please make an effort to come down and witness this moment.

This is the first time we've had round 1 at home in a long time, plus we have all four sides at home! It is going to be a great day so be sure to get down to the Hangar for what is sure to be a super start to the season.

Bombers Invade The Nest

Don't forget that this Saturday, the under 19s will be taking on Parkdale at Gerry Green Reserve in Parkdale. The game starts at 10am. No seniors sides have a practice match on that day so please make the effort to head over and support the young guys.

Unfortunately, the netball practice match fell through so we are desperately trying to arrange one for the week. We want to show them all the support that we can and make them feel welcome at the Hangar!

All The Way To Yea!

This Saturday will see the Skye boys venturing up through the Yarra Ranges to play their second practice match against Yea FC. This is the first time that both sides have met in a practice match since 2011. We hope that all Skye supporters can find their way up there to cheer the boys on. We also need volunteers to assist throughout the day.

Reserves @ 12pm
Seniors @ 2pm

For those who cannot make the trip, our netballers are almost certain to play their first practice match. The arrangements are last minute so we will post details as soon as they come to light. It will be a local game so we encourage everyone to make the effort to attend the game. We have had a terrific response in regards to the number of girls registering to play. We want to show them all the support that we can and make them feel welcome at the Hangar!
