For several years, our club has been campaigning for better facilities at Carrum Downs Recreational Reserve. The reserve has not had a lot of love in recent times and we feel that needs to change. The clubs that reside at Wedge Rd boast in excess of 600 members. It is a great place for people of the Skye, Carrum Downs and Sandhurst areas to be involved in sport.
We recently had a win, with our proposal for full ground lighting being accepted by state government. The state government, along with Frankston City Council are now committed to making this happen.
However, our club is required to make a contribution. We have had many people involved at our club over the past 10 years and we are now asking for a small favour. We are asking the community to assist us in raising funds. This is a great result for the future of sport in Skye, Carrum Downs and Sandhurst.
